Dr Avanish Saklani is Professor colorectal and robotic surgery at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. After surgical residency M.S (general surgery) in 1996, he entered surgical oncology residency programme from 1996 to 2000 at Tata Memorial Cancer Centre. He moved to UK for higher surgical training and acquired Certificate of Specialist Registration in 2010, subspecialist colorectal surgery. After completing a fellowship in lap-colorectal surgery he spent a year as Robotic colorectal fellow at Yonsei University, Seoul.
Dr Saklani’s field of special interest is laparoscopic/robotic surgery for low rectal cancer. He also specialises in pelvic exenteration for recurrent and locally advanced cancers. We run a cytoreductive surgery and Hipec programme.
